Legal Protection Insurance

Legal Protection insurance provides cover for legal costs associated with certain legal cases regardless of whether the action is brought by or against the policyholder and it goes beyond by representing the policy holders in and out of the court depending on the context of the respective national law. The disputes may concern several areas such as contract, labor, consumer or family law and the extent and scope of the cover is defined by the terms and conditions of the policy. The common form of this insurance is the Before the event (BTE) protection insurance which is taken out prior to the event of any legal dispute. The After the event (ATE) insurance is arranged after the event has happened and in the eventuality of the case failing the legal costs and disbursements will be borne by the Insurer. It is available for cases that have high prospects of success.
